Port of Spain TT - July 23, 2017 - On Sunday 16 July 2017, at the Central Bank Auditorium, Port of Spain the 3rd staging of our Miss World Trinidad and Tobago Pageant was hosted.

The show was produced by Lorraine O’Connor and her team. Vishnu Balroop CEO of Vistrac and Balroop’s were the Lighting and Sound Specialists. Andre and Paula Des Ormeaux of Dynamic Designs were the Décor Specialists.

Naailah Khan of Hair by Jowelle and Candice Mohan were our hairstylists for the evening. Both ladies worked cohesively. Miss Mohan was also the official hairstylist for the official photoshoot with Eustace Dyer and LaDonna Kong was the official makeup artist as well for that shoot.

International guests from Nicaragua were in attendance. Well-renowned designer Erick Bendaña who designs are worn by Nicaraguan queens for Miss World, Miss Universe and Miss Princess of the World to name a few.  Mr. Bendaña was the designer for the Opening and Resort Wear Segments. Former Miss Oneness Beauty Queen Anielka Espino and CEO of BuenaVida Nicaragua, a 100% pure coconut oil company and Gregory Lewin, Founder of Oneness Entertainment were on the panel of esteemed judges.

Other judges on the panel were: the famous Yvonne Poppelwell, Rana Ibrahim, William Tommy, Stephanie Moe, Nadeem Kothdiwala and the Liasior Judge was Vanessa Sahatoo-Manoo.

The entertainment for the evening were: Master Kyle Ali who played the National Anthem on the steelpan. He is a 14 year old student and just recently was inducted as the newest Paul Harris Fellow, a prestigious honour by Rotary International. Serenading our beauties was 6th Form student of presentation College, San Fernando Vashish Dukharan. Vashish played a beautiful rendition of John Legend’s “All of me”. This aspect was well received by the guests. Beautiful bouquets were sponsored by the Welcome Store of MarabellaThe Guest Performer was well known Nailah Blackman.

For the evening gown segment the 8 beauties wore designer creations from Jovani’s of Kooti’s Clothing who is the official stylist of the MWTT pageant for the past 2 years.

Melissa Aguilleira – Best Pre-Show Queen, Miss Elegance, “Oneness” Spirit of the World
Jade Mascall – Miss Amity
Sherisse Bideshi - Best Beauty With a Purpose
Zayna McDonald – Best Talent and Miss Personality
Tanisha Lalla – Top Model and Most Photogenic

The Top 5 were: Chandini Chanka, Tanisha Lalla, Melissa Aguilleira, Zayna McDonald and Sherisse Bideshi

Winners were:

1st Princess – Melissa Aguilleira, from Moruga
Miss World T&T 2017 – Chandini Chanka, from San Juan

The international competition takes place again in beautiful Sanya, China on the 18th November 2017. Our delegate has to arrive in Singapore on the 16th November 2017.
This year the Miss World pageant will incorporate newer elements and already our queen is anxious.

Her training commences next week and this weekend we are finalizing her Beauty With a purpose (BWP) project. We remain committed to our core of assisting those in need and already we are finalizing a number of charity projects
